Abstract:
ABSTRACT The man being a social animal finds it impossible to be a part of the society without communication. To be in touch with his fellow beings, apart from the convention methods of communication, Social networking has now occupied a pivotal place and notable increase in using these social network sites, has facilitated people to communicate to any part of the world irrespective of the distance. It indeed shrunk the world! There is a consistent growth in the digital technology that is catering to the requirements to the various needs of the current society. On the other hand it is more often than not heard that the same boon of digital technology is turning to be a bane for the society, wherein the students are being drawn away from their studies. Here, the call of the day is to educate themselves about the technology & its impact and use the same in a wise way. Research has put forth both the positive and negative impact of digital technology in the education field. An effort has been made herein, to explore the impact of social media on students and enable them to use the social networking technologies (SNT) sites wisely and constructively.
