Abstract
Steganography is the science and art of hiding information in
ways that conceals the existence of embedded data.
Information can be transferred from one place to another
place through an appropriate multimedia carrier, e.g., image,
audio, and video in a covert way. If the feature of secret data
is visible, it can attract the attention from eavesdroppers and
attackers. To hide secret data in images, there exists a large
variety of Steganography techniques some are complicated
than others and all of them have respective strong and weak
points. The ultimate objectives of steganography are
robustness, undetectability and capacity of hidden data. This
paper provides a comparative analysis of hiding secret image
in a cover image using steganography methods along with
some common standards and guidelines drawn from the
literature. The effectiveness of these techniques has been
estimated on the basis of the parameters MSE, PSNR,
Capacity and Robustness. In addition to this a new method
for DWM is proposed with normal information loss.
