Abstract: |
caching techniques permeate almost all
areas of communication networks today. In the near future,
caching will play an important role in storage-assisted Internet
architectures, information-centric networks and wireless
systems, reducing operating and capital expenses and improving
services for consumers. users. In light of the remarkable growth
in data traffic and the growing number of multimedia
applications, the impact of caching is expected to become even
deeper than it is today. In this article, we look at the economics
of caching popular content. After modeling the cooperation
between content providers and internet service providers as a
coalition game, we assess the investments and benefits of both
types of actors in caching strategies.
